FILE - Christopher Plummer poses for a portrait on July 25, 2013, in Beverly Hills, Calif. Plummer, the dashing award-winning actor who played Captain von Trapp in the film The Sound of Music and at 82 became the oldest Academy Award winner in history, has died. Plummer died Friday morning at his home in Connecticut with his wife, Elaine Taylor, by his side, said Lou Pitt, his longtime friend and manager. The role catapulted Plummer to stardom, but he never took to leading men parts, despite his silver hair, good looks and ever-so-slight English accent. Plummer married his third wife, dancer Taylor, in 1970, and credited her with helping him overcome a drinking problem.

Julie Andrews hosts new podcast featuring childrens book in each episode

In times of uncertainty, sometimes seeing a familiar face, or hearing a familiar voice, can be really comforting. Enter Julie Andrews, the star of what were likely some of your favorite childhood films -- most notably, perhaps, Mary Poppins and The Sound Of Music.Andrews has a relatively new podcast, called Julies Library, that shes collaborating with her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, to produce -- along with some help from American Public Media. Each episode of the childrens book podcast features a story chosen by the mother-daughter team, along with a special guest and kids, according to NPR. Andrews and Walton Hamilton are no strangers to literature, having co-authored more than 30 books for children and young adults, Andrews says on the shows website. It is our hope that the stories and ideas we share on Julies Library will provide family listening pleasure, inspire meaningful conversations, and be a trusted resource for literary enjoyment and learning.
