After a grisly week at a downtown public housing complex, security concerns took center stage during public comments at Opportunity Home San Antonio’s Wednesday afternoon board meeting.

Earlier this month, the San Antonio Housing Authority Board of Commissioners decided that Opportunity Home, the city’s public housing authority, needed a change at the top.

The board’s decision came on Wednesday and cited “a need for fresh leadership to propel the organization into a new direction.”

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who might have come into contact with Semper Fi Mechanical Services HVAC to contact deputies as they might be the victims of fraud.

SAN ANTONIO – Already one of the first public housing projects in the country, and the first in San Antonio, Alazan Apache Courts has been designated among 11 of the “most endangered historic places for 2020,” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “We are looking for places that are endangered and of course Alazan Apache Courts is in danger of demolition,” said Katherine Malone-France, its chief preservation officer. “The best thing is to start from scratch,” Reyes said.
