Netflix once again dominates Golden Globe TV nominations
(Liam Daniel/Netflix via AP)NEW YORK โ Netflix rode the voracious hunger for TV content during a year of pandemic viewership to a dominant showing at the Golden Globe nominations. The streaming giant scooped up 20 small-screen nods โ nearly three times as many as its closest competitor, HBO, and beating the 17 TV nominations it got last year. Streaming newcomer HBO Max scored two nominations with โThe Flight Attendant,โ a best comedy TV berth and also earned โThe Big Bang Theoryโ veteran Kaley Cuoco her first Globe nod. Little-known Pop TV earned five nominations โ all for the Canadian comedy โSchittโs Creek,โ which swept the comedy Emmy Awards last year. AdโThe Greatโ now faces โThe Flight Attendant,โ โSchittโs Creek,โ โEmily in Parisโ and โTed Lassoโ for bragging rights to best comedy TV series.
Fresh comedy faces, 'Modern Family' farewell seek Emmy nods

Last year's best series winners Game of Thrones and Fleabag called it a wrap, clearing the path for others to prevail. The Handmaids Tale, which took the best drama trophy in 2017, is vying for its third nomination in the category. Big Little Lies, last year's winner for best limited series, is hunting for a drama series nod for its second season.
'Ramy' Renewed for Season 3 at Hulu
Ramy is returning for season 3. The series, starring Ramy Youssef, has been renewed for a 10-episode third season, Hulu announced on Thursday. Season 2 of Ramy premiered on May 29. Season 2 also featured Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, as Sheikh Ali Malik, a "cool radical" Sheikh who inspires Ramy. "A big mask has to come off of Ramy," Youssef said.
