Netflix once again dominates Golden Globe TV nominations
(Liam Daniel/Netflix via AP)NEW YORK – Netflix rode the voracious hunger for TV content during a year of pandemic viewership to a dominant showing at the Golden Globe nominations. The streaming giant scooped up 20 small-screen nods — nearly three times as many as its closest competitor, HBO, and beating the 17 TV nominations it got last year. Streaming newcomer HBO Max scored two nominations with “The Flight Attendant,” a best comedy TV berth and also earned “The Big Bang Theory” veteran Kaley Cuoco her first Globe nod. Little-known Pop TV earned five nominations — all for the Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek,” which swept the comedy Emmy Awards last year. Ad“The Great” now faces “The Flight Attendant,” “Schitt’s Creek,” “Emily in Paris” and “Ted Lasso” for bragging rights to best comedy TV series.

'Ramy' Renewed for Season 3 at Hulu
Ramy is returning for season 3. The series, starring Ramy Youssef, has been renewed for a 10-episode third season, Hulu announced on Thursday. Season 2 of Ramy premiered on May 29. Season 2 also featured Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, as Sheikh Ali Malik, a "cool radical" Sheikh who inspires Ramy. "A big mask has to come off of Ramy," Youssef said.

Lindsay Lohan apparently landed a role on a TV show, but never made it to set. According to Ramy star Ramy Youssef, the Mean Girls actress agreed to make a cameo on the Hulu show. We actually cast Lindsay Lohan, because Lindsay had this whole thing about converting to Islam," Youssef tells Entertainment Weekly. After making arrangements for her appearance on Ramy, the 29-year-old actor says Lohan ghosted him. I don't know, I never heard from her."
'The Handmaid's Tale' renewed for Season 4
(CNN) - Hulu has renewed its dystopian drama "The Handmaid's Tale" for a fourth season, CNN has learned. The Emmy-winning series is based on author Margaret Atwood's acclaimed novel and is set in, what the cast and writers argue, is a not-to-distant-future. "The Handmaid's Tale" is currently in its third season and airs Wednesdays on Hulu. A premiere date for Season 4 has not been announced. There, it was also announced that Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will be a special-guest star in the second season of comedian and creator Ramy Youssef's semi-autobiographical dramedy "Ramy."
