Rampage open West Semis Thursday at OKC
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage are riding high after their thrilling double overtime series win against Chicago. The Rampage moved into the AHL Western Conference semifinals for the first time in franchise history. They open their best-of-7 series with West champion Oklahoma City on Thursday at the Cox Convention Center. The puck drops on both home games at 7 p.m.Game 5 will also be in San Antonio if necessary. The Rampage and Barons split the season series 4 games a piece.
Chicago beats Rampage to force Game 5
The San Antonio Rampage failed to close out Chicago again Wednesday night and will not have to play a series deciding Game 5 against the Wolves on Friday. The Wolves beat the Rampage 3-1 to tie the series 2-2. The Rampage got out to a 1-0 lead in the first period before Chicago evened the score late in the second period. The Wolves scored late in the third to take a 2-1 lead and added an extra goal before time expired. The puck drops for Game 5 Friday at 7 p.m. in Chicago.
Rampage raise $48,000
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage set a record on Friday night by raising more than $48,000 as part of the second-annual "Pink in the Rink Night." The team wore pink-themed jerseys that were auctioned off after the game to raise money for breast cancer research. Rampage team captain Nolan Yonkman's jersey raised a record $6,000. The Rampage also auctioned off several pink hockey-themed ties worn by San Antonio celebrities, including one from KSAT's Greg Simmons. The Rampage also sold out the AT&T Center for the first time in franchise history, with 16, 151 fans in attendance at Friday's game.
