Virginia Democrats picked establishment candidates to take on Republican incumbents in two congressional districts the party hopes to flip in November.

Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary is the latest and perhaps biggest example yet that the party’s voters are looking to turn the page on establishment-backed candidates in must-win battlegrounds.
