Hill Country artists to take part in Comfort Art Festival this month
Comfort, Texas โ Paintings, jewelry, textiles and much more will be on display at this yearโs Comfort Art Festival. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 19. Artist displays will be featured outside Comfort restaurants, boutiques, specialty stores and antique shops throughout the downtown area. โThe Comfort Art Festival has become a Hill Country tradition,โ Julie Kuykendall, the event organizer said. "The Art Festival is a wonderful way for shoppers to learn more about Hill Country artists and build their personal art collections and for our merchants to support these artists who inspire us all by capturing the spirit and beauty of the Hill Country in their work.โMore than a dozen artists will be participating in the event.
Corona Arts Relief Program formed to help local artists
Luminaria and the City of San Antonioโs Department of Arts and Culture have put together the Corona Arts Relief Program to help each artist with $600 during this time when so many people are out of work. โAll the theater work, I had a show at the Woodland Theater, recently, that I was music directing and it got postponed,โ Ramirez said.
