A Texas Department of Transportation commission approved nearly $285 million worth of bicycle and pedestrian-centered infrastructure projects across the state this week.

San Antonio’s Planning Commission approved a resolution Wednesday to update the city’s Bike Network Plan (BNP), advancing continued transportation policy measures in the Alamo City.

Vision Zero and the Bike Network Plan are expected to receive support from a grant issued to San Antonio's Transportation Department as part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All program.

As members of the bicycling community gathered at a City Council meeting Thursday, it didn’t take long for conversation to turn to how much is left to make San Antonio more bike-friendly.
