Amazon Web Services experiences another big outage
It’s the latest of several recent AWS outages that took down large chunks of the digital economy. Two weeks ago, service problems tied to malfunctioning network devices created issues with Amazon’s Ring home security business and other cloud-based applications. Another outage the following week was resolved in less than an hour. Last year, huge swaths of the web were knocked offline after the company’s Northern Virginia servers became overwhelmed, affecting access to Ring and iRobot, among others.

German prosecutors say they have new evidence in Madeleine McCann case, but not enough
CNN German prosecutors have said they have evidence that a man jailed for another crime killed British toddler Madeleine McCann 13 years ago -- just not enough to charge the suspect in court. Prosecutors last week said that they "assumed" McCann, who went missing in 2007 while on holiday in Portugal with her family, was dead. As German prosecutors reported that new evidence had emerged against the suspect, Portuguese prosecutors on Wednesday confirmed the same suspect had two previous convictions in the country, one for disobedience and another for theft, and had served time in prison. 'We assume Maddie McCann is actually dead'Wolters said that prosecutors have not come across any evidence to suggest McCann was still alive. He also denied UK media reports that there was evidence suggesting McCann had been killed shortly after her abduction, even though that was most likely the case.
