Amazon Web Services experiences another big outage
It’s the latest of several recent AWS outages that took down large chunks of the digital economy. Two weeks ago, service problems tied to malfunctioning network devices created issues with Amazon’s Ring home security business and other cloud-based applications. Another outage the following week was resolved in less than an hour. Last year, huge swaths of the web were knocked offline after the company’s Northern Virginia servers became overwhelmed, affecting access to Ring and iRobot, among others.washingtonpost.com

This is the latest, and close to last, installment of my ongoing rhyming chronicle of the presidency of Donald J. Trump, based, as always, on his words and acts. Note: It can be sung to the tune of “The Yellow Rose of Texas.”chicagotribune.com
What we know about the missing Idaho children as their mother and her husband face charges
CNN Both the mother of two missing Idaho children and her husband are now facing charges related to their disappearance. Daybell is married to Lori Vallow, whose children -- 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua "JJ" Vallow -- have not been seen since September. Vallow is currently awaiting trial for multiple charges, including two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of children, according to a criminal complaint filed with an Idaho court. Here's what we know -- and don't know know -- about the search for the children that began in November. Vallow and Daybell married in November, not long after their previous spouses died and Vallow's children were last seen.
German prosecutors say they have new evidence in Madeleine McCann case, but not enough
CNN German prosecutors have said they have evidence that a man jailed for another crime killed British toddler Madeleine McCann 13 years ago -- just not enough to charge the suspect in court. Prosecutors last week said that they "assumed" McCann, who went missing in 2007 while on holiday in Portugal with her family, was dead. As German prosecutors reported that new evidence had emerged against the suspect, Portuguese prosecutors on Wednesday confirmed the same suspect had two previous convictions in the country, one for disobedience and another for theft, and had served time in prison. 'We assume Maddie McCann is actually dead'Wolters said that prosecutors have not come across any evidence to suggest McCann was still alive. He also denied UK media reports that there was evidence suggesting McCann had been killed shortly after her abduction, even though that was most likely the case.
