Hearing centers on negligence claims after Camp Mystic flooding
Testimony wrapped up today in a hearing on a lawsuit filed by the family of an 8-year-old girl whose remains have not been found since the July 4 flooding at Camp Mystic, which killed 27 campers and counselors. The hearing focused largely on whether camp leadership was negligent in responding to warnings; the Eastland family, which owns the camp, testified that an evacuation plan exists. A judge kept a temporary restraining order in place blocking repairs to a cabin, while removing one building from the order, as additional lawsuits and a state investigation loom.
