City Council Reviews Emergency Response After Home Explosions
Two months after two homes exploded on San Antonio's North Side — sending five people to the hospital — City Council is finally holding a special meeting to ask: what went wrong, and how do we fix it? Patty Santos has been on this story, and she breaks down what council members are demanding when it comes to how the city, CPS Energy, SAPD, and SAFD all talk to each other during a crisis. The explosions, fueled by natural gas from lines installed back in 1993, left two families hospitalized and now suing CPS Energy. The NTSB is still investigating — but leaders say this meeting is about making sure SA is better prepared before the next emergency hits.
