Beloved Italian restaurant gets a facelift and new provisions area at the Quarry in San Antonio

Piatti is an Italian restaurant chain - sure - but its Quarry location has called San Antonio home for more than 25 years. Spending that much time anywhere makes you one of the locals. Their pasta gets made fresh daily, and their pizzas get prepared in a wood-fired oven. The charm of the building has evolved - with recent renovations giving the decades-old building a new lease on life. The old bar is gone, but a new, centralized bar is now center stage. The popular party room in the back - where my wife and I had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding - has been replaced with a provisions area offering to-go meals, fresh pasta, espressos, and sweets. The food is still delicious, and the cocktails still pair nicely with great conversation - now you get a newly redesigned restaurant to experience everything all over again.
