11 arrested in SA-area drug operation

Suspects with outstanding felony warrants targeted

SAN ANTONIO – Eleven people have been arrested in a narcotics surge operation in San Antonio that local, state and federal law enforcement took part in.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the goal of the operation was to track down suspects with outstanding felony drug warrants.

"We are committed to keeping our communities safe, and in doing so, we continue to strengthen our partnerships with other law enforcement agencies," said Bexar County Sheriff Susan Pamerleau. "Working together on operations such as this allows us to share our information and resources to provide for an all-around better outcome. We cross boundaries, we work together, we share information and in the end, it helps us get the felons, the guns, and the narcotics off the streets."

Drugs seized during the operation:

  • 52 grams of marijuana
  • 62 grams of Synthetic Marijuana (Kush/Climax)
  • 25 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 5.3 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 3 grams of heroin

Officials said they made 12 on site felony arrests, one on site misdemeanor arrest and cleared 12 felony warrants, along with recovering two stolen handguns.

"This week’s enforcement action illustrates the ability of law enforcement agencies to leverage their individual resources to work together and achieve justice," Homeland Security Investigations San Antonio Special Agent in Charge Monica Mapel said. "HSI and members of San Antonio law enforcement are committed to making our communities safer by conducting robust joint investigations."
