SAN ANTONIO – Schertz police are investigating after two people were found dead in a home on Friday morning.

There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of trauma, and foul play is not expected.

Police said they were initially dispatched to the home on Thursday to conduct a welfare check. Relatives had told police that they hadn’t heard from the man and woman since last Tuesday, and they had health issues.

A neighbor met the officers on Thursday but the neighbor did not have a garage code. Officers searched the perimeter but left when they didn’t see any signs of forced entry.

Relatives called another neighbor and gave them the garage code. The neighbor went inside the home and found the man and woman dead, police said.

Their names have not been released by the police.

“Schertz PD also does not have any indications that would give reasons and rise to elevate a neighborhood safety concern. However, the Justice of the Peace has ordered an autopsy,” a news release states.
