Crime Stoppers seek public’s help in solving 2022 shooting death of teenager

Humberto Perales, 16, was shot, killed while walking with a friend on West Side street

SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers is hoping the public can provide them with a tip to help police solve the shooting death of a teenage boy.

According to police, Humberto Perales, 16, and a friend were walking on a West Side street around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2022, when a red Dodge Charger drove past them.

The car then made a U-turn and stopped at the intersection of South Chupaderas and West Commerce streets. The passenger in the front seat got out of the car armed with a rifle and shot at the two boys, police said.

Perales was struck by gunfire and transported by EMS to a hospital, where he died.
