FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS:
** The heat index peaked at 100 yesterday and we'll be at that mark or above through the foreseeable future
** Temperatures are forecast to approach 100 this weekend and potentially over Memorial Day
** Rain chances are very low, but they do exist, mainly during the late afternoon hours this week
FORECAST:
Good afternoon! It's as if we flipped a switch and Mother Nature decided it was time for summer to arrive. The heat this week will be intense. Upper-90s are sure bet, while triple digits will be possible in spots. To make matters worse, humidity is not backing down either. Heat index values will consistently peak above 100 in the afternoons.
When it comes to rain, there are chances -- they're just very small. This afternoon, one or two storms could form over the Edwards Plateau. San Antonio will remain dry. Tomorrow, we'll watch as storms gather to our north. It's possible they could make a run for the area tomorrow evening -- but, again, the odds are low. Friday through the weekend, rain chances sit below 20%.
Speaking of the weekend, know that it'll be extremely hot. Air temperatures are forecast to reach to near 100. Additionally, heat index values will make it feel even hotter. Memorial Day will also be hot. However, a weak front may try to stir up a storm or two. We'll keep you updated!
Have a great day and stay cool!
