SAPD officer taken to hospital after crash that caused Wurzbach Parkway to be shut down

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio police officer was taken to the hospital Monday morning after his patrol vehicle was rear-ended as he was assisting at another accident.

Officer Jonathan Harris was providing traffic control at the scene of a one-vehicle crash on Wurzbach Parkway between Perrin Beitel and Nacogdoches.

A driver in a white Chevrolet Truck with a trailer in tow hit Harris' vehicle from behind. Harris was transported to the hospital by EMS to be evaluated. The SAPD was not able to provide details on the extent of his injuries.

The driver and passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.
