Eric Cooper, San Antonio Food Bank President and CEO, accepted the check on behalf of the food bank.

The recent tornado destruction in Devine and Lytle have spurred a need for help in those areas, he said.

"We are thrilled to be able to help the San Antonio Food Bank in any way we can and thanks to our customers we were able to donate this money,"
said Chris Pheiffer, San Antonio Corner Bakery Café franchise owner. "We know this money will go towards helping those suffering from hunger and malnutrition, or victims of natural disasters like the recent tornados."

The San Antonio Food Bank is a nonprofit organization serving as a clearing house receiving and storing truckloads of donated food, produce and other grocery products.

The food bank distributes these items in manageable quantities to more than 500 service agencies helping people in need.
