Man on Top 10 Most Wanted list arrested

George Yanes facing organized crime charges

SAN ANTONIO – He was on Bexar County's Top 10 Most Wanted List and now he is behind bars.

On Thursday, police arrested a large street supplier of a major drug operation.

George Yanes, 55, was arrested early Thursday morning at his home in South Bexar County.

Yanes has been the main target of an eight-month narcotics investigation.

Police had named the investigation "Operation Ghostbuster" after Yanes because he has been able to evade police for the last decade.

"For the last 10 years, he's been evading police, he's been on the Top 10 Most Wanted list for Bexar County," said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. "But, we finally got him today."

Yanes is facing a federal charge of organized crime-conspiracy to posses, with intent to distribute over 5 kilos of cocaine.

So far, police have seized 2.5 kilos of cocaine, at least $250,000 in cash, $65,000 in seized property, as well as five vehicles and five houses.

Five people, including Yanes, have been arrested.

However, McManus said they expect more arrests in this investigation.
