Police arrest suspect in 2011 murder

Detectives say Joshua Reyes admitted killing to a friend

SAN ANTONIO – Four and a half years after they first questioned him about a killing, police have now arrested and charged Joshua Reyes with murder.

Reyes, 23, is charged with shooting Bryan Sendejo in the neck and leaving him to die on South New Braunfels Street Jan. 4, 2011.

An arrest affidavit says Reyes told a detective the night of the murder that they did not have the clothes he was wearing or a murder weapon.

Police released Reyes.

But detectives say Reyes bragged to a friend last week that he'd killed Sendejo, then showed the friend the gun he had used buried next to a dog house.

The friend went to police and police went after Reyes, this time arresting and charging him with murder.

The arrest affidavit says Reyes shot Sendejo in a dispute over a stolen PlayStation 3.
