SAN ANTONIO – A celebration was held Tuesday night for the teams of McAllister Park Little League.
Over the weekend, three baseball teams, ranging in division groups from 9-12 years of age, dominated the state tournament in Abilene.
At the celebratory event, teams got together for pictures and fun.
"The commitment that it takes from the boys, the families, the coaches is enormous. Most people would not be able to comprehend," said Tina Peeples, president of McAllister Park Little League. "We practice every day, they get one day off a week. But because they love the game and play at such a high level and so committed to it, it's all worth it, especially to where we're headed."
The team of 11-year-olds to 1- year-olds is heading to the regional tournament in Waco next week. If the team wins, it will bring them that much closer to the World Series.
In the past, McAllister Park had teams participate in the World Series tournament in Williamsport in 2009 and 2012.
