Two men walk every block in NYC

No description found

NEW YORK – With over 6,000 miles of streets it's a wonder why anyone would want to walk them, but William Helmreich and Matt Green don't see the problem.

The duo, who have never met, both have very different reasons for embarking on the journey and walking every block in all the five boroughs.

"When you walk a whole city, block by block, you have an acute sense of both the differences and the similarities of each part of the city," said Helmreich.

"I quit my job because I just couldn't sit at the computer all day anymore," said Green.

In this video, the two men will meet for the first time and discuss their philosophies on walking.

The biggest question is how — and if — New Yorkers can truly know their city without seeing every part of it.

The video doesn't say how long it will take the pair to walk the city, but it does show a different perspective on the city they live in.
