NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – After five decades apart, a woman has been reunited with her high school class ring.
Justin Lee found the ring in the Guadalupe River this month.
Lee inspected the ring and saw that it was from Redwood Falls, Minnesota, graduating class of 1952 and has the initial M-J-K on it.
Mary Jane Karis, who now lived in Beeville, Texas, lost the rings decades ago when the family owned a cabin along the river.
Within hours of posting the picture on Facebook, Mary Jane Karis’ daughter reached out to Lee.
Over the weekend Lee got the chance to meet Karis and return her ring.
Karis, 83, even posed with her class ring the same way she did for her senior class portrait.
