Jacob Perales died hours after his 19th birthday

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio police department has identified the name of the teen killed just hours after his 19th birthday early Wednesday morning.

Jacob Perales was found dead in the middle of Piedmont Avenue on the city's South Side by family members, police said.

Police said that family members told them that Perales had left two hours prior and when they went out looking for him they found him lying in the road way.

SAPD said there is no suspect information at this time.

A 19 year old man who was found dead in the middle of a South side street was shot in the face, according to San Antonio police.

Investigators at the scene on Piedmont Avenue near Ada Street said relatives told them the victim had gone out for a walk early Wednesday morning. When he didn't return, his girlfriend went to look for him and discovered his body in the middle of the street shortly before 3 a.m., police said.

The man had suffered at least one gunshot wound to his face, they said.  Investigators identified him as someone who lived in the immediate area.

Police said they're investigating the possibility that his death is drug related.

They did not release the victim's name right away.
