SEGUIN, Texas – A bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle, Seguin police said.
The collision was reported at 12:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Court Street.

Witnesses told police that they saw a cyclist cross West Court Street from the south side of the road. Police said that as the cyclist crossed the road, she was struck by a maroon 4-door Volvo traveling in the outside westbound lane.
The bicyclist, identified by police as an 18-year-old Texas Lutheran University student from Houston, was treated at the scene by Seguin Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel. Police said the student was then airlifted to San Antonio Military Center for treatment.
The Texas Lutheran University Police Department assisted Seguin police in notifying the student's family, police said.
The incident remains under investigation by the Seguin Police Department's traffic unit.
