Heroin, cocaine, assault rifle, over $15K in cash found in search at West Side home

Officials say search happened at home on Tahoka Road

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office's narcotics unit found heroin, cocaine, an assault rifle and more than $15,000 in cash at a West Side home.

The search happened Thursday at a home on Tahoka Road, which is in a neighborhood off Enrique Barrera Parkway.

Officials said Marcelo Gaitan, 37, was arrested suspicion of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

The estimated street value of the heroin seized is more than $114,000 and for the cocaine is nearly $12,000, officials said.

The Sheriff's Office said Gaitan is a gang member and was also arrested on suspicion of a parole violation.
