Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and saw someone drive away from the 6900 block of Forest Meadow with a car following close behind.

Bostic, police said, was shot but was able to walk one mile before collapsing two blocks form his home.

First responders said Bostic was still alive when he was found but was unresponsive.

Bostic was transported to University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Bostic was placed in handcuffs in February for possession of a controlled substance.

During that arrest, Bostic somehow escaped while in handcuffs and remained at large for some time before turning himself in on August 20.

The Sheriff's Office said he bonded out the next day. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
