Bexar County jail video visitations begin Saturday

County hopes to phase out in-person visitations by November

SAN ANTONIO – People will be able to start using the new video visitation center to chat with inmates at the Bexar County jail starting Saturday.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in-person visits will gradually be phased out by mid-November, when all visits will be done by video, except for rare circumstances.

Visitors need to register online or at the facility before their visit. The Sheriff’s Office said the new center and technology will allow people to visit inmates more often.
