Man told victim’s mother he was giving her a kiss, affidavit states

SAN ANTONIO – A 62-year-old man has been arrested after a girl told police he inappropriately touched her, according to an arrest affidavit.

Daniel Ralph Ditmyer was arrested Tuesday and charged with indecency with a child-contact, a second-degree felony, online booking records show.

An arrest affidavit states the teenage girl told police Ditmyer went into her bedroom on Monday and sat at the edge of her bed.

She pretended to be asleep as the suspect touched her, the affidavit, and was “too scared to say anything.”

Ditmyer stopped touching the girl when her mother called out for him, police said. Her mother opened the door and asked Ditmyer why he was standing near her bed, in which he responded he was giving the girl a kiss, the affidavit states.

The victim reached out to a relative and told her about the assault, police said. The relative then told the mother, who reported it to the police.

Ditmyer had fled the location before police became involved, the affidavit states.

His bond was set at $75,000, online jail records show.
