Beaumont man arrested for murder in fatal shooting of 25-year-old, police say

BEAUMONT, Texas – A Beaumont man is now behind bars for murder after the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man, according to Beaumont Police Department.

Officers were first called to an apartment in the 2500 block of Smart Street at 4:32 a.m., Saturday, in reference to a shooting victim.

When police arrived, they found a man who was deceased after being shot multiple times. The shooting victim was identified as Darian Kaimen Banks, 25, of Beaumont, according to officials.

Investigators obtained a murder warrant for the shooting suspect, Gregory Joseph Ager, 28, of Beaumont.

Ager was contacted by police, and he agreed to meet them at the police department, according to authorities.

He spoke with investigators and was later arrested for murder. Ager is now being held in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and his bond is set at $1,500.
