SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 50s had to be extracted from his vehicle by firefighters following a rollover crash on the city’s far West Side early Tuesday morning, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near Highway 151 and Ingram Road, not far from Potranco Road and Loop 410.
According to police, the man was driving a 2008 white Ram 1500 pickup truck and became pinned between the driver-side door and the ground after he rolled it into a highway pillar. It is unclear exactly what caused the crash.
Police said the man had lost control of the vehicle, redirected it into the grassy median and then struck the pillar. The injured man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, where he’s listed in critical condition.
The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
