Orphaned puppies are recovering after a lawn mower accident (San Antonio Pets Alive)

SAN ANTONIO – A litter of orphaned puppies are recovering from injuries after being hit by a lawn mower.

According to San Antonio Pets Alive!, a litter of 5-day-old puppies and their mother were hit by a lawn mower on Tuesday in a wooded area of San Antonio.

The mother and two of her puppies died, San Antonio Pets Alive Director Rebecca Mayberry said.

The three surviving puppies are recovering well, Mayberry said.

“I am extremely saddened to hear how these puppies came into our care,” she said..

Mayberry said the “puppies are receiving an abundance of love and care as they fight through their cuts and the tragedy of losing their mom.”

SAPA! is asking for donations to help the nonprofit pay for recovery of the puppies.
