SAPD searching for woman involved in stabbing on near West Side

Incident occurred just before 1 1 p.m. in 800 block of South Nueces Street

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are looking for a woman who they say stabbed another during a fight just west of downtown late Monday night.

Officers were called just before 11 p.m. to the 800 block of South Nueces Street, not far from South Zarzamora Street after receiving word of a person wounded.

According to police, officers had previously responded to the location for two women fighting in the street, when they returned for the stabbing.

Witnesses told officers the two women had been fighting on El Paso Street when one of them stabbed the other.

Police say a woman in her 30s was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, where she’s expected to recover.

The second woman fled and has not been found. It is unclear what charges she may be facing if she is caught.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

It is unclear exactly what the fight was about. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
