SAPD searching for people who broke into ATM on North Side, abandoned truck in neighborhood

Criminals ripped open ATM, took off with a large amount of money

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for two people who broke into an ATM on the North Side and abandoned their truck in front of someone’s home.

The theft happened before 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the Chase Bank ATM at West Avenue and Basse Road.

The criminals ripped open the machine and took off with a large amount of money. It appears they used a truck with a chain attached, and it was found abandoned down the street in the 600 block of Venice.

Police are searching the neighborhood for the people who bailed out of the truck.
