A man was hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting Tuesday in the parking lot of a North Side strip mall, San Antonio Police said. The incident occurred in the 7500 block of McCullough Avenue just before noon. A witness told police he heard gunshots and stepped out of one of the strip mall businesses and saw a man jump into a black SUV and take off on McCullough, said SAPD Sgt. Matthew Brown.

20-year-old man fatally shot in Rogers Park, police say

About 5:30 p.m., Zetina was in a parked vehicle in the 7400 block of North Oakley Avenue in the West Rogers Park neighborhood when a male walked up to him and fired shots, police said. He was shot in the left side and the left arm, and he was taken to Amita Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead.

More than 1,000 flyers from a White supremacist group were dropped throughout the North Side early Sunday. "Racism and hatred are not welcome here," Mayor Ron Nirenberg said, denouncing the flyers in a statement to the San Antonio Express-News. The FBI told the San Antonio Express-News that the bureau is aware and working with Prichard. 14First vice president Ronald Murray told the San Antonio Express-News that the fliers were distributed throughout Hollywood Park, Oak Haven Heights, Stone Oak and nearby areas. The group posted a YouTube video recorded just after midnight Sunday, prior to distributing the flyers.

LGBTQ-inclusive speed-waxing salon to open three San Antonio locations

LunchboxWax, an LGBTQ-inclusive speed-waxing concept, will open a San Antonio location at the Alon Town Centre on the North Side, the first of three outlets planned in the city. A man who died after he was injured in a hit-and-run accident on the North Side has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. Jose Antonio Zavala-Diaz, 36, was fatally struck at 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 22 when he was standing next to his vehicle in the 10300 block of Sahara Drive, investigators said.

The HOV lane opened from La Cantera Parkway to FM 3351 on the westbound side on Interstate 10. The eastbound HOV lane opened earlier this month. Far North Side standoff ends with surrender of suspect

A man who barricaded himself in an apartment for four hours after allegedly firing shots at the far North Side complex surrendered Tuesday night. In between firing shots, the suspect threw furniture and other items over the balcony. “He’s been silent for the last few hours.”At about 8:30 p.m., the chief announced that the man surrendered peacefully to officers. He said the department’s mental health team was on scene since the start of the incident, including a psychologist. “If the person is experiencing any mental health issues, psychologists and the mental health team would be able to help him through that,” McManus said.

SAPD: 10 armed suspects shot up Vance Jackson apartment building injuring two

San Antonio police say they are searching for possibly up to 10 armed individuals in connection with a shooting early Thursday morning at a North Side apartment complex that left two people with serious injuries. Officers were called to the Boulder Creek apartments at 12330 Vance Jackson around 3 a.m. for reports of multiple shots fired. When they arrived, they found an abandoned white vehicle with numerous bullet holes and blood trails coming from it.

Two DWI crashes on the North Side send multiple people to the hospital

Two separate DWI crashes overnight sent at least four people to the hospital, San Antonio police said. A five-vehicle pile up occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on the North Side Wednesday night. Police say a possible drunk driver in a red sedan ran into the back of a black sedan on U.S. 281 between Thousand Oaks and Brook Hollow, causing a chain reaction that ended up onto the access road.
