Juvenile suspect arrested after allegedly shooting teen twice in chest at Converse convenience store

Relationship between suspect and the victim is still unclear

CONVERSE, Texas – A juvenile suspect believed to be responsible for shooting a teenager twice in the chest at a Converse convenience store earlier this month has been arrested.

The shooting occurred in the 8000 block of Kitty Hawk Road at the Kitty Food Mart on Aug. 17.

Converse police said the suspect, who is not being publicly named because of his age, was identified shortly after the shooting and arrested on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Saturday.

“On August 26th, the juvenile male suspect was apprehended and released into the custody of the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center,” according to a statement from the Converse Police Department.

The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to the Brooke Army Medical Center in serious condition, with two gunshot wounds to the chest. His current condition is unknown.

The relationship between the suspect and the victim is still unclear.
