San Antonio high school students get first look at Battle of Flowers Parade floats

Each float represents a literary genre, which includes mystery, fantasy, horror and adventure

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio high school students received a first look at the floats they’ll be riding and performing on during this year’s Battle of Flowers Parade.

Students from 11 high schools were given a sneak peek at the floats, which follow the theme around this year’s parade motto: “From Pages to Possibilities.”

Each school’s float will represent a literary genre, including mystery, fantasy, horror and adventure.

Students said they have been working hard for months in preparation for one of the biggest nights of the year. Many expressed excitement and hope that community members will embrace the energy of the event.

“San Antonio is the only city I know that really does a big parade,” LEE High School senior Haley Castro said. “So, come out and be a part of it.”

The Battle of Flowers Parade is scheduled for Friday, April 24.
