SAN ANTONIO – A man was hospitalized in critical condition overnight after San Antonio police said he crashed his motorcycle at a high rate of speed just west of downtown.
The crash happened just before 12:30 a.m. Monday on the Frio Street/Durango Boulevard exit ramp on southbound Interstate 35.

Police said the motorcycle driver hit a wall and was thrown over it, landing in a grassy area.
Police said the motorcycle continued without the rider and crashed into SAPD’s Central Substation. An officer noticed the motorcycle had no rider, prompting firefighters to search the area.
Firefighters found the man nearby, and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the crash.
