Authorities search for man accused of shooting Harris County deputy

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are searching for a 25-year-old man accused of shooting a deputy in Harris County.

A Blue Alert was issued for Chase Patin, who was last seen at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the 1100 block of Bayou Drive in Channelview, Texas.

KSAT’s sister station KPRC reported Patin allegedly fled the scene in a patrol car after shooting a Harris County deputy. Police later found the car near Dell Dale and the East Freeway.

According to KPRC, the deputy is in the hospital in “fair condition.” The deputy reported the shooting happened after the deputy was dispatched to a family disturbance.

Patin was last seen wearing a black hat, black shirt, black shorts, and black shoes, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Patin is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair.

DPS said Patin is believed to be connected to injuring the officer, involving a serious risk or threat to the public and other law enforcement personnel.
