Big Game Coverage Road Trip: Week 3 Preview

SOUTH TEXAS – It's time to travel around South Texas for the Big Game Coverage Road Trip. Three games, six teams and a lot of Friday night football festivities.

Game 1: Hallettsville Sacred Heart Indians (0-1) at Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (1-1). Hallettsville had its first game of the season canceled. This marks the fourth straight season the Indians and Mustangs will face each other with Nixon-Smiley winning two of the past three meetups, including 14-0 last season. 

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mustang Stadium.

Game 2: Falls City Beavers (1-1) at Stockdale Brahmas (1-1). The two schools are separated by less than 25 miles and according to the Lone Star Football Network, this rivalry started in 1952. The Beavers lead the series 31-16-2 and have won the last five meetings.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bobby Russell Stadium in Stockdale.

Game 3: La Grange Leopards (0-1) at La Vernia Bears (0-2). The Leopards lost to Argyle last Friday after their season opener was canceled due to damage from Hurricane Harvey. The winless Bears are averaging just 13 points per game on offense.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bear Stadium.
