WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The boys from Boerne will have their backs against the wall when they take the field Monday afternoon at the Little League World Series.
The team is facing elimination after losing 4-3 to the Soundview Little League club — the Northwest region champions from Tacoma, Washington — Friday afternoon in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Down a run in Friday’s final inning, Boerne failed to score after loading the bases with nobody out. Soundview pitcher Kasen Workman entered the game, induced two ground ball outs and a harmless flyout to end the game.
Because the LLWS is a double-elimination tournament, the kids from Kendall County have another chance to keep their season alive.
Boerne will face the West Side Little League team from Hamilton, Ohio — the champions from the Great Lakes region.
Similar to Boerne, the Hamilton team came up a run short in its first Little League World Series game against the club representing Henderson, Nevada, Friday morning.
The first pitch of Boerne’s game is slated for 2 p.m. Monday and will air on ESPN.
The winner of the Boerne-Hamilton game will advance to face Bayonne, New Jersey — the Metro region champions — at 6 p.m. Tuesday. That game will also air on ESPN.
