SPRING BRANCH, Texas – The Smithson Valley Rangers are rolling right along, and they want to keep it that way.
Led by longtime head coach Larry Hill, the Rangers (12-2) are getting ready to take on the Angleton Wildcats (13-1) in the UIL Class 5A-Division I state semifinals.
A win against the Wildcats would put the Rangers back in the state final for the second year in a row.
Angleton is back in the state semifinal round for the first time since 2017.
Smithson Valley hammered Corpus Christi Flour Bluff 49-14 in round four to set up the matchup with Angleton.
The Rangers and Angleton Wildcats will kick off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Baylor’s McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas.
