SAN ANTONIO – Baseball fans across the state rushed to local apparel stores to get in line following the Houston Astros' game 7 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.
Extremely long lines could be found at stores in both Houston and Corpus Christi early Thursday morning as people waited for the opportunity to get their championship gear.
In San Antonio, Academy Sports + Outdoors is opening at 6 a.m. to begin selling official World Series Championship T-shirts and hats.

Astros players all playoffs long have been wearing a H Strong logo on their jerseys in support of the city of Houston, which continues to recover from Hurricane Harvey.
The World Series Championship win was the first for the organization since starting out back in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45s.
Following the victory, All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa even proposed. After doing a TV interview, he got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez, a former Miss Texas USA, to marry him.
Prior to the Astros victory, teams from Texas had had won almost every major championship -- teams have won the Super Bowl, NBA and NHL titles, championships in both college football and men's and women's hoops -- except for the World Series.
But in a way, this season should been expected for Astros fans after a Sports Illustrated cover back in 2014 predicted the victory -- despite the fact the team had lost more than 100 games for three straight seasons at that point.
