Despite a 17-point second half, Trinity could not overcome a 10-point halftime deficit in a 24-17 loss to the defending Division III National Champions Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday.

Senior wide receiver Ryan Merrifield caught the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, as Trinity defeated Hardin-Simmons at home 14-7 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

The Tiger’s undefeated streak continued last Saturday as Trinity University bested Berry College 21-14 in a close game that saw both teams pushed to their limits in the afternoon sun. Throughout the game, the Trinity football team demonstrated a continued will to win. Head coach Jerheme Urban shared his satisfaction with the team’s next-man-up attitude....

The Trinity Tigers football team returns to action this Saturday at 6 p.m. as they take on the Sul Ross State in their first game. Trinity’s first home game of the season comes against an opponent they haven’t seen in seven years: a 2015 week 3 contest in which the Tigers won 30-12 at home....

Right now that would be a toss-up between youd have to say Patrick Mahomes, but Quenton Nelson, left guard for the Indianapolis Colts, is a really, really special player. I wanted to be a history teacher and coach high school football, so what better way of talking to somebody who does that every single day. To me, Im going to do everything I can to protect our family here at Trinity with the football family [and] same thing at home.

Photo by Matthew ClaybrookTrinity Football added a designated student section to the football field located under the video board and behind the south endzone with the hopes of increasing student involvement with the football team and improving the game-watching experience. We have the opportunity to encourage a strong cross-campus connection amongst the Trinity students and improve the perception students hold for their school. Urban explains that the logistics and rules of the student section are fairly simple and follow the official University policies regarding tailgating. Sophomore senator Rachel Kaufman has been working to streamline the experience for students, the football team and the athletic facilities management department. Trinitys first official home game against McMurry (TX) University allowed the Athletics Department to open the student section for the first time.
