Communities in the Texas Hill Country have faced two major floods in just over a year, compounding emotional distress and making recovery difficult.

In Texas, storms don’t always end when the clouds clear. For some families, the next round of thunder, a chance of hail, or even a new flood watch can bring the fear from past events right back to the surface.

Texas lawmakers are requiring youth camps to have weather alert systems, emergency preparedness plans and several communication methods available to help children and their families feel safe when they return to camp after this year's catastrophic flooding.
