The medical officer for the Texas summer camp where 27 girls were killed in a flood last year has testified that she still has not officially reported the deaths to the state health agency that regulates camps.

A Texas judge has ordered Camp Mystic to preserve damaged cabins and other parts of the grounds hit by last year’s catastrophic flood that swept away and killed 25 girls and two counselors.

Nearly six months after a roaring flood killed 25 girls and two counselors at Camp Mystic in central Texas, the 100-year-old camp will begin enrolling new campers in January.

The Democrat from San Antonio was initially sentenced in 2018 to 12 years in federal prison for his role in a Ponzi scheme. He later pleaded guilty to a bribery charge.

In July, a judge ruled Watts could not represent Uresti. In response, the prosecutor said the civil case and criminal case were related. Within a few short months after obtaining the settlement, Uresti sought and obtained a portion of that settlement from Ms. Cantu. Some of this money was paid back over the subsequent months including past the time that Ms. Cantu invested into Four Winds. A judge has not ruled on the issue of whether Watts can represent Uresti again.
