Diggs’ major injury happened in the last quarter of the final game of his contract--on the Seahawks’ field of horrors in Arizona.

The Bills offense came alive after Allen combined for just 846 yards passing and five touchdowns — including one rushing — in splitting the previous four games. It was just the eighth time since Week 9 of the 2011 season the Carroll-led Seahawks have lost by 10 points or more. Allen carved up a Seahawks defense that entered allowing 28.5 points per game and had already surrendered 500 yards of offense three times this season. For Buffalo, the entire Bills team continued its season-long decision to stay in the locker room for the anthem.

The entire night in a normal setting would have left CenturyLink Field shaking with delirium, especially after the final play. Newton found Harry but was stopped at the 1 and New England used its final timeout, setting the stage for the final play.

Multiple flags were thrown and after a few minutes of deliberation, referee Craig Wrolstad announced Diggs had been ejected. Watkins made an 11-yard catch to convert a third down when Desmond King started to bring him down and Denzel Perryman landed a helmet-to-helmet hit. San Francisco lost both defensive end Nick Bosa and defensive tackle Solomon Thomas to left knee injuries earlier in the game. Brady struggled in an 11-point loss to New Orleans in his first NFL game not in a New England Patriots uniform.
