Tips are being sought in the disappearance of a Laredo man who entered Mexico last month and is now feared abducted or dead, federal authorities said Monday. Sergio Ricardo Jimenez-Covarrubias, 27, was last seen on Oct. 10 crossing into Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, via the port of entry in Laredo, according to the FBI San Antonio. Jimenez-Covarrubias has brown eyes and hair, is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds, authorities said. FBI spokeswoman Michelle Lee said it is not clear what happened to Jimenez-Covarrubias, but that investigators suspect foul play such as kidnapping. Laredo police initially began investigating Jimenez-Covarrubias’ disappearance but have since asked for help from both the public and federal authorities.

Jimenez-Covarrubias was last seen Oct. 10 when he crossed the Port of Entry in Laredo in Nuevo Laredo in a black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. His whereabouts are unknown, but it’s believed he may have been kidnapped in Mexico.
