The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said in statement Friday that an โaction planโ is under development to admit Black members. The group currently has 87 members who are journalists, but none are Black. AdAn HFPA spokesperson said it welcomes the opportunity to meet with groups such as Timeโs Up and prospective Black members who are interested in joining the organization.

Both Black actresses wore T-shirts featuring Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old EMT from Louisville, Kentucky, who was shot and killed by police in March. Aduba, sitting behind a table at home, wore a black T-shirt with Taylor's name in gold. Aduba wanted to give a boost to the demands for social justice that have swept the nation during the coronavirus pandemic this year. He took the stage at Staples Center wearing a black T-shirt with white letters BLM for Black Lives Matter and a white raised fist.
