A man convicted of libel in Britain helped spur investigations into Islamic private schools applying to Texas’ voucher program, legal filings say.

Families have until July 15 to opt in to the education savings accounts, or ESAs, which launches next school year.

Most accredited private schools must have emergency plans in place, which include training and having direct communication lines with local law enforcement and emergency responders.
