Every day in the U.S., 17 veterans die by suicide, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This September, during Suicide Prevention Month, two San Antonio veterans are speaking out about something many in the military are taught never to do: ask for help.

Wounded veterans cycled along the Overseas Highway, including the Seven Mile Bridge, as part of the annual Florida Keys Soldier Ride.

The rain hit hard in San Antonio last weekend, but it didn’t stop community members from showing up for an important cause, according to a press release.
